Kokem?ki Novel CHP plant
The first demonstration plant of Novel technology (6MW) was built in the town of Kokem?ki, Finland in 2005. The plant produces 1.8 MW electricity and 4 MW district heat for the town. The project has been realized in partnership with VTT and the Distributed Energy Systems technology programme of Tekes.

The Novel fixed-bed gasifier was developed by VTT and Condens Oy in late 1990?s. It is based on forced fuel flow and updraft gasification technology. Gas cracking takes place in the upper part of the reactor.
The Novel gasification technology is licensed to Condens Oy.
