Bioenergy NoE Researchers Meeting 2006

The Bioenergy NoE Annual Researchers Meeting will take place in Helsinki from 17-18 October 2006. The aim of the meeting is for researchers in Bioenergy NoE to share ideas for joint work and to inform all members of Bioenergy NoE’s latest progress and plans for the future. Highlights will include: RESULTS FROM 2006 WORK PACKAGES Before the Meeting, results from the 2006 Work Packages will be given to researchers. At the meeting, WP leaders will present the results and hold complementary workshops in which researchers can feed into the report findings. The conclusions will help to shape the long-term strategy for Bioenergy NoE. YOUNG RESEARCHERS TALKS An exciting piece of work will be presented by a young researcher from each partner institute. The presentations will deepen knowledge of partner expertise and give young researchers a higher profile in the NoE. NETWORKING EVENTS A Networking Session of parallel activities will give researchers time to present their own ideas for joint work to Bioenergy NoE colleagues. Activities will include: researcher-organised meetings to present and brainstorm ideas for joint work, a poster session, a tour of VTT’s facilities in Espoo, and short tutorials on the NoE’s eMeeting system. EC BIOREFINERY CONFERENCE The Meeting has been planned to coincide with the EC’s Biorefinery Conference from the 19-20 October in Helsinki. Some joint site visits with conference participants are being considered.
