AEOLA aersol pilot plant

The AEOLA test facility at FZK is used in R&D projects for:

  • Generation of dry aerosols in wide concentration ranges
  • Gas/particle distribution of PAH on fly ash
  • Particle deposition studies
  • Tests of the grade efficiency of particle filters

  • Reactor length: 8m
  • Diameter: 0.5m
  • Carrier gas: flue gas or air
  • Dosage systems for liquid/solid particles
  • Materials: fly ash/fluoresceine
  • Temperature: 20 - 200 degrees Celcius
  • Flow rate: up to 800 Nm3/h

Measurement technologies

  • Scanning mobility particle sizer (15 -800 mm)
  • Optical particle counter (0.3 - 20 μm)
  • Exposure system for biotests
