LCS ? Lab scale Combustion Simulator
The Lab-scale Combustion Simulator at ECN is an advanced drop tube furnace used to characterise pulverised fuel combustion and gasification. Typical issues that can be addressed include burnout, reactivity, (fly)ash formation and quality, slagging and fouling as well as corrosion.
Feedstocks tested include a large variety of coals and biomass (e.g. wood, sewage sludge, meat and bone meal, olive residue, straw etc.) pure as well as in blends.
