Pressurized Thermobalance

The thermobalance of VTT is used for

  • Characterisation of gasification reactivity 
  • Ash sintering of fuels  (special application: characterisation of combustion)  

Feedstocks

  • A wide range of biomass fuels
  • Wastes, waste fractions
  • Peat and coal. 

Technical information

  • Temperature: up to 1000 ?C thermocouple, up to 2000 ?C optical pyrometer
  • Pressure:  1 - 100 bar
  • Input gases: steam, H2, CO2, CO, air, O2 and N2
  • Isothermal and non-isothermal measurement possible
  • Sampling of product gas and particulate matter
