Bench-scale fluidised bed reactor

The bench-scale fluidised bed reactor at VTT can be used for following studies:

  • Characterisation of fuels and sorbents
  • Material behaviour
  • Reactivity
  • Bed agglomeration
  • NOx formation
  • Sulphur capture
  • Oxyfuel combustion in small-scale

Technical information

  • Fuel power: 0.25 - 2 kW
  • Temperature: 750 - 1050 ?C
  • Bed pressure: 150 - 3000 Pa
  • Fluidisation velocity: 0.5 - 5 m/s
  • Total gas velocity: 0.5 - 5 m/s
  • Gas residence time:0.12 - 1.2 s
