Engine and vehicle lab
VTT has an engine and vehicle laboratory for alternative motor fuels emission and usability research.

- Chassis dynamometers for heavy and light duty vehicles
- Six engine dynamometers including one transient dynamometer
- Full flow dilution tunnel

- Regulated gaseous emissions plus particulates
- Non-regulated emissions
- Speciated hydrocarbons (GC), aldehydes, alcohols, multicomponent on-line FTIR analysis
- Composition and quality of particulate matter (SOF, PAH, IOF, AMES)
- Mass size classification and continuous number size classification of particles
- Fuel consumption
