MILENA - Internally circulating fluidised bed gasifier

ECN's MILENA is an indirectly heated gasifier for the production of a CH4 rich gas not diluted with N2.  Heat required for gasification is produced by combustion of char and transferred by circulating sand.  The gas produced can be used for the production of synthetic naturalgGas (SNG) or for CHP production. A unique factor of MILENA is that the gasification and combustion section are combined into one vessel.
